Grade 4/5 students designed surveys with personal interest questions and school wide questions. They went to different classes and collected the data. Then the students made tables and graphs to show their results.
One finding the students noticed was that most students do not know what the school goal is. The other result they talked about was that a few younger students were not feeling confident on the playground.
Leadership students are now starting a peer helper program on the playground to help our younger students feel confident on the playground and we are brainstorming ways that we can help students to learn the school goal.
Here are some examples of the students’ work. The project involved critical thinking, analysis of data and the thoughtful design of surveys to accurately gather information. The students are going to do the survey again and compare the results to see if they are reliable.
